Job Description
Ascend Staffing has a direct hire opportunity for a RTO Site Supervisor. The position will be based in CO. but does require an extensive amount on travelling between CO. and WY.
The position will pay between $40,000 and $45,000.00 based upon experience
Must be authorized to work in the USA
Must be able to pass a national background check
Must have a clean driving record
Must be able to pass a drug test
Must be able to travel
Summary:
Tote operators run the day-to-day functions of the tote operation at a horse race track, such as tote system data entry and verification, prepare the reports for the racetrack office, assist the forwarding of company equipment and spare parts. They maintain, operate and troubleshoot tote boards and auxiliary odds boards. They operate the communication tools used at the racetrack. They install, tear down and maintain equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the overall tote operation at a specific worksite.
Working with general manager, assists with the hiring, scheduling and development of qualified staff at the racetrack.
Performs tote system data entry and verification.
Performs tote board general maintenance and operations
Responsible for reviewing the invoicing of customers and the preparation of other paperwork for the racetrack and the corporate office such as trouble reports.
Responsible for the timely completion of inventories and the cycling of spare parts and equipment.
Responsible for ordering supplies.
Ensures that all hardware is properly maintained and in good working order. Includes moving and relocating lines and equipment as needed.
Required to interact with customers, racetrack management personnel, and state officials in a professional manner.
Maintain costs at the site, including minimizing OT, etc. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Calculate tote price
A price quote for a horse on the Tote is the current dividend pay-out on the event of that outcome happening. This tends to be similar to normal bookmaker odds, and tracks the market in a similar way, but at any given time may be better or worse than a bookmaker's quoted odds. However, since all bets are pooled, all bets are essentially starting price"(SP), that is, until the race has started (and all betting finished) one cannot calculate what the final pay-out will be
Maintain equipment
Regularly inspect and perform all required activities to maintain the equipment in functional order prior or after its use.
Follow ethical code of conduct of gambling
Follow the rules and ethical code used in gambling, betting and lottery. Keep the entertainment of players in mind.
Process data
Enter information into a data storage and data retrieval system via processes such as scanning, manual keying or electronic data transfer in order to process large amounts of data.
Maintain customer service
Keep the highest possible customer service and make sure that the customer service is at all times performed in a professional way. Help customers or participants feel at ease and support special requirements.
Operate tote board
Operate a tote board, either manually or using software such as Autotote.
Set up tote board
Install the tote board used to display information relevant to tote betting at an event.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. Tote operator experience and electrical and/or computer experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast paced environment requiring normal movement around and between geographic facilities. Position requires to be licensed by the proper racing and/or gaming authorities within the region. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, able to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Some travel may be required as the workloads dictate. Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.
